About us
MC Painters is an established painting and decorating company specialising in residential, commercial and industrial projects.
Hi, I’m Mike. I’ve been in the painting and decorating industry since 2004, having worked for a variety of firms at the start of my career. I became a sole trader back in 2016 after deciding that in order to do things to the standard I’m happy with, I’d have to go out on my own.
Since then, I’m proud to say that I’ve built a reputation in the area for quality work and outstanding customer service.
I’m also proud to say I’ve been able to build a team of like-minded and hardworking people working to complete our jobs to this standard. With every job we carry out, our decisions are based on what is best for the client to ensure they’re happy with the end result.
What We Do
Now, I know being a decorator might not seem exciting to some. You may hear the word and think: ladders, paintbrushes, maybe a bit of masking tape. But for our team based on the Wirral, we don’t see it that way.
For us, it’s not just about changing colours. Transforming a space to look exactly how you want is a big deal. That goes for whether it’s a brand-new renovation or an office that needs a facelift.
Creating an environment that feels right, whether it’s for relaxation at home or an inspiring workspace, is what we do best.
Painting and decorating done properly is the difference between a house and a home, and our attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship is what sets us apart from other decorators in the area. At MC Painters Ltd, interior and exterior decorating is our bread and butter. We offer:
- Full house redecoration
- High-end Venetian plaster and specialist wall finishes
- Plaster skimming for a smooth, modern look
- Restoration and repainting of period features
- Commercial work, such as office fit-outs and communal spaces
While those are some of our main services, no two jobs are the same. One might be a living room makeover, where we paint with rich tones to bring warmth into the home. The next job might be repainting the exterior of a three-storey block in British weather – and we all know how unforgiving that can be! We’ve even worked on decorative finishes where the wall becomes a feature piece in itself.
How We Do It
We've developed a methodical, systemised approach that makes life easier for everyone involved – especially the client. From the initial consultation, where we get to know you and learn exactly what it is you’re looking for, to the final clean-up, we take care of every detail so you don’t have to worry.
We start with a clear, itemised quote, so there are no surprises. Then, we produce a job sheet that removes guesswork and ensures consistency in every phase of the project.
We use dustless sanding machines, premium products and we clean up at the end of every day to maintain a tidy, safe working environment. Our friendly and professional approach ensures that your property stays clean and respected throughout the entire project.
If you’re interested in acquiring any of our painting and decorating services, get in touch with our team today and let us help you transform your space. Whether it’s residential or commercial work you’re after, we’re here to deliver the quality finish you expect and deserve – and we won’t say no to a cup of tea either!

Hints and tips
My best advice before painting is it’s all in the preparation, it’s so important to achieving a high quality, professional finish.
Surface preparation is key.
All surfaces must be cleaned, scraped, sanded, loose paint removed and filled before you even think about picking up a paintbrush!
A bricklayer starts at the bottom a painter starts at the top. I’d recommend starting with the ceiling first, apply 2 coats to this. Next during the drying times apply the first coat of paint to the woodwork (you’re going to want to overlap onto the walls by around 1 inch). The next stage would be to apply 2 coats of paint to your walls, cutting in neatly to the ceiling and woodwork. Finally, you’ll finish by applying your final coat to the woodwork.
For colour consistency and to reduce ‘flashing’ it’s recommended in tinted products you should always decant the full tin of paint, where more than 1 tin is required they should be all be mixed together to maintain true colour and avoid flashing.
